Hello and Welcome to my blog!
I have had this blog set up since May but was not sure what to write about, I'm still not but I am giving it a go....after all....What have I got to lose?
Silvella Jewellery was set up by myself (Gillian) in 2010. If I am completely honest I found it (and still do) extremely difficult working from home. Getting motivated from your own home with no team to help you focus or bounce stuff off is one of my biggest problems. I seem to get distracted by the simplest of things..... washing, ironing, taking the bins out, the TV but my biggest distraction is the FRIDGE. Absolutely everything distracts me from my work.
I also lack a little self belief and I believe CONFIDENCE is key in business, however despite these issues I will push forward and see where it all takes me because jewellery is something that I enjoy to do and you never know I might even find a confidence cure along the way :-)
I am desperate for my little business to survive because I love making jewellery. I will show you my lampworking ideas, working with Fine Silver, Sterling Silver and the basics, such as stringing beads and making your own earwires for earrings.
This blog will be a place where we can share jewellery making ideas. I will share jewellery designs and explain step-by-step how to achieve them. All my work will be on display in my folksy store http://folksy.com/shops/Silvella and my website www.silvella.co.uk
Follow me on a new jewellery making adventure in the next couple of weeks as I learn how to etch on Silver - My first attempts will be posted in this blog along with my personal view on it.
